What makes up your house? Who resides in your house? Just like the church is made up of the congregation, a heart is made up of what you behold, and what you behold is what you become; a house is also like this. A house is made up of what you put into the structure and the atmosphere and in the hearts of those living in it. The home is where the heart is, the question today is where is your heart? Does your heart have God in it? Does your house and family have God in it? Its important to know your values because only then can we know if our entity is living life accordingly.

The Structure Of A House

*Windows: "I believe in Christ, like I believe in the sun- not because I can see it, but by it I can see everything else" C.S.L. Let your house be a transparent structure for all who enters and all who pass by, this is to be said not only for those who notice your house but also for those you know. If I were to go up to someone you knew what would they say your were like? Better yet what would they say your faith is like? You represent your house, your house is your faith represent it well and don't deny it. Windows are clear, let your faith be so also to anyone who peaks in from the outside. You represent your house but not your household everyone is accountable for themselves.

*Doors: If God closes a door stop knocking on it whatever is behind it isn't in God's plan for you. If you feel like everywhere you turn you are surrounded by doors than pray in the hallway; pray for patience, pray for peace, and pray for His presence. God's plans aren't always understood from our viewpoint but they can always be obeyed and revealed in His timing. But doors go both ways, see what I did there, God isn't the only one who can set up doors you can to. When you set up a closed door you are separating yourself from God and putting up a barrier this barrier is sin. Disobeying God puts up barriers and can create distance in your (house) relationship with God.

*Foundation: Matthew 7:24-27 "Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it wont collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn't obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house it will collapse with a mighty crash." A good structure leads to the building of truth and a building of truth leads to spiritual growth.

*Table: The place where everyone gathers and everyone shares and fellowships. It starts at the dinner table - a conversation, then it grows in your home till one day it goes outside of the walls of your own house. The word of Christ must be intentionally shared. Conversation must be witnessed.
